Food has always been one of Luciano Pavarotti’s great passions.
Food for the Emilians (but it is a feature that suits all Italians in general) means not only nourishment, but also conviviality. The “social” dimension of each meal was a fundamental element for the Master, synonymous with joy for him.
For the Maestro, food also represented the bond with his land and, when his profession took him away from home, rediscovering the flavors of Emilia was a way to feel less distant from his origins and his world.
But Pavarotti also loved cooking. In the kitchen he was curious, he often asked to know the ingredients and procedures; having learned the basic steps, he used to take notes on the pages of his personal diaries, which were the starting point for making this cookbook.
The recipes kept in the diaries were entrusted to the skilled hands of the starred Chef Luca Marchini so that completed and refined procedures could take shape from the Master’s scattered notes and could also accompany the original recipes with the image of the dish cooked and ready to serve in table.
